BIG Hearts and Max Gould team up in support of NAPA Hockey Heroes Weekend

Friday, 28 June 2024

BIG Hearts and Max Gould, Managing Partner of BIG Moncton, recently teamed up in support of NAPA Hockey Heroes Weekend 2024.

Hosted annually by the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, this tournament has become Atlantic Canada’s most successful fundraising event, raising over $8 million in its first 11 years. The event provides participating teams with the incredible opportunity to play alongside iconic NHL and Olympic hockey alumni, such as Eric Lindros, Ray Bourque, and Marie-Philip Poulin, all while supporting vital research and programs to fight heart disease and stroke. With a $1,000 donation, BIG Hearts helped Max and his fellow teammates raise nearly $24,000 for this year’s tournament - which generated $1.1 million.

A first-time participant, Max Gould stressed the importance of this event and his appreciation for the support provided by BIG Hearts, stating:

“I am extremely proud to have been involved in an initiative that continues to drive change in our community. More than 1 in 5 deaths in New Brunswick are a result of heart disease and stroke, and the overwhelming amount of community support that this event receives is remarkable. The generous donation from BIG Hearts significantly contributed to this year’s success and will help make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.”

When asked about BIG Hearts’ involvement, Cindy Billyard, Executive Director of BIG Hearts, stated the following:

"At BIG Hearts, we are deeply committed to making a difference in our community, and teaming up with Max to support initiatives like the NAPA Hockey Heroes Weekend is a testament to that commitment. This event has a history of success and is making a tangible difference in the lives of the people who call New Brunswick home. We appreciate Max bringing this initiative to our attention and look forward to future opportunities to support similar causes across the country.”
