BIG Welcomes Ryley Bellows As Controller

Ryley Bellows, CPA, has joined our BIG team as the new Controller. Ryley comes to BIG with over 7 years of experience in public accounting, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting degree from Brock University and his CPA designation. Before joining BIG, Ryley was working as a Controller at a construction manufacturing company in Niagara, which also included roles in Human Resources and Technology. From his wealth of experience, Ryley will provide insight to BIG’s leadership team in strategic decisions as the brokerage continues to expand.

What excites you about your new role at BIG?

Ryley’s enthusiasm is evident as he talks about taking on this position at BIG, “I consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to develop and oversee the Finance & Administration department of a company that is experiencing exponential growth.”

BIG’s President, Stephen Billyard is thrilled to bring Ryley on board, recognizing the invaluable expertise he will offer. “In addition to Ryley’s designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Ryley brings hands-on management experience in Operations, Human Resources and Technology to the BIG team. He will be a valuable asset providing additional support across functional departments within BIG.”

Why did you want to join BIG?

“I feel blessed to be part of a team that fosters positivity and excellence,” Ryley remarks about the Billyard Insurance Group. “When I first met Steve, it was evident that he is a great leader who is passionate about his craft.” From that point, Ryley realized that he would enjoy working with Steve and the team, learning a lot along the way.

How do you see your experience and current role helping BIG achieve its goals?

As Ryley steps into his new role, his goal is to bring a fresh perspective to the company’s financial decisions. “Being newer to the insurance industry allows me to take a fresh look inside the company,” he explains, “I am very vocal; I ask a lot of questions and will challenge the status quo in an attempt to gain efficiencies and help find areas where we can further grow and develop.”
