Katie Kernick

I entered the insurance industry in 2010, driven by the opportunity for recognition through hard work and dedication. The importance of education and knowledge in this field resonated with me and continues to be a passion of mine.

I hold two diplomas in Marketing and Insurance from Mohawk College. Since obtaining my OTL in 2010, I quickly realized my aspiration to become a broker. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in Personal Lines Services and spent a decade specializing in Personal Lines Sales, particularly High Value Homes. In 2023, I expanded my expertise by working as an underwriter while maintaining my RIBO license in good standing, reaffirming my commitment to the Broker side of the industry.

At BIG, I bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, a positive mindset, and a love for sharing information. My skills are enhanced by my genuine enthusiasm for helping clients and colleagues alike.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, practicing yoga, and hiking. I was honored to be nominated for the PAL Insurance Brokers Young Gun of the Year 2019 through the Insurance Business Canada Awards and featured in Insurance Business Canada 8.03 Elite Women of 2020.
